According to a survey conducted by Taloustutkimus, Finns see democracy and human rights support in a more favourable way than last year. Also, the general attitude towards development cooperation is more positive than in 2010.
The percentage of Finns who are willing to give more funds to development cooperation rose from 16 to 23 percent. The Minister of Development, Heidi Hautala, expressed her contentment in the results and furthermore commented on the importance of rising popularity of democracy and human right support’s role as a motive for international cooperation.
